He was born on 18th November 1982 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. At the age of 10 he was introduced to Atemi Jujitsu by a family friend who trained at the South African Institute of Unarmed Combat.
In the mid 90s Shareef joined the South African Institute of Unarmed Combat and trained under Shihan Thaya Moodaley to further his journey on the martial path of Atemi Jujitsu.
In 2004 he was recruited into the South African Police Service. In May 2008 he was transferred to Cape Town by the S.A.P.S. While living in Cape Town, he studied Krav Maga, Ninjutsu, Muay Thai and Karate.
Apart from running Atemi Ryu, Shareef is a member of The South African Ninjutsu & Martial Arts Academy, training under Shihan Henri Gouws (6th Dan Black Belt – Koga Ryu Ninjutsu).
Shareef has been studying numerous martial art disciplines for over 25 years.
Martin C. Bosman, Sensei
Sandan – 3rd Degree Black Belt
Native, Port Elizabethian, born 28 June 1971. His natural gravitation to the Martial Arts comes from a rich family history involved with the fighting arts.
His Grandfather was a boxer and his Mother a proficient Judo practitioner. He started boxing and his training in the art of Atemi Jujitsu at a very young age.
Sensei Martin is a student of Atemi Jujitsu, Jeet Kune Do, Kick Boxing and Krav Maga. He loves spending time with his children, fishing, swimming and listening to audio tapes by American inspirational speaker, Esther Hicks.
